Psychic Driving
(2014) video, 14 minutes
Your tax dollars at work: CIA experiments on unwitting subjects involving drugs and electroshock therapy. One of the subjects, the wife of a member of the Canadian Parliament, speaks out in an interview. The source is a VHS tape recorded from a television broadcast in 1979, the only copy existing in the National Archives. The tape’s degradation inspired animation involving hundreds of passes of filters in Photoshop.

Mike Stoltz

Under The Atmosphere
(2014) 16mm, 15 minutes
“Referring to the narrowness of the peninsula, they claimed it would not be able to withstand such a great explosion and would be blown to pieces the moment the cannon was fired. ‘Then let it be blown to pieces’ the Floridians replied.”

Shot on the Central Florida “Space Coast”, site of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Images of an arcane text, an out-of-tune rock band, overly active landscape, and the surface of the film image itself work towards a future-past shot reverse shot.

Edgar Jorge
Staring at the Mirror
(2014) 16mm, 24 minutes
